ECHS in Today

Today we had in the Early College High School counselor to talk to our 8th graders about their program that runs in conjunction with Chemeketa Community College. Sounded fabulous to me and quite a few students throughout the day picked up applications. What an opportunity for some of our students. They have even had a few students graduate with their high school diploma and their AA degree. Super cool! So I spent the day with not quite so many computer check outs since the library was basically closed. Finished up the new books that came in by covering the paperbacks. Did get some of my shelving done today. Dealt with another book refund from last April. All in all a good day. But drats, did have to let in lunches. A lunch was so good! I was so hoping B lunch would be too, but that was too much to hope for I guess.

Sent in Retirement Notice Today

Yep, hopefully done by the end of April! I'm very excited! I let my PA and my Principal know. I had a blood test this morning, so got in about an hour late, but I had already put in an hour of sick pay for the appointment, so all was well! Had to get everything going again after being off for two weeks. Get the computers all cranked up, lights all on, windows opened back up - I had the shutters all closed over break. Had a quite a few students that needed a computer for the day. Got in two boxes of new books! Huzzah!!! Like Christmas! Had my aides check in books, do their shelving (I didn't shelve any of my fiction, shhhh! but I did do non-fiction) had them set up the books again after I had laid them all down for the two weeks. Had them take some stuff to the office and make some deliveries. Had one aide take down the books I had on my new book table and put up the new hardbacks I just got in. Had an email from a high school on a student who paid for a book a year ago and is still getting a notice.  We got it figured out! Deleted a ton of emails from over the break. Had both lunches in and I survived. That's always a good thing. Lots of welcome back from all the staff. Was nice. We'll see what happens tomorrow!
